 Not Compatible With Ramp Racer Dec 27, 2007

I got my 3yr old son this race car set for his birthday as well as the Melissa & Doug Ramp Racer Set. These cars are too tall to fit down the ramps. On their own they are perfectly fine wooden cars, but I got them specifically for the ramp racer setup.

I like these cars a lot. The wheels spin smoothly, and even on carpet, you can propel these cars a fair distance before they stop.
Additionally, you'll probably find that these cars interoperate just fine with many of the tracks and playsets made for other cars. These cars' widths are comparable to the cars that you would typically use in those structures. The only issue you might have is if the track has a low clearance. These cars are a bit on the tall side.
Note: I bought these cars as a Christmas gift for my two year old son. The packaging's recommended minimum age is 3. However, I intended to play with these cars with my son, so I didn't balk too much at that. I'm glad I bought them. We've both had a lot of fun with them.

I purchased the cars along with the race track, they were offered as a recommendation by Amazon. These cars are too large however, and do not work fit the track. Othewise the toys is of good quality, as all Melissa and Doug toys.

Purchase of this set along with the 60 piece block set, car carrier and town set for my 4yr old grandson for Christmas were perfect choices. He loves building things (garages, houses, ramps, tunnels, towers, forts, etc)and pretending with anything car related so these items were perfect and have provided literally hours upon hours of imaginative fun for him alone and with other family members. The blocks especially are well sized, substantial, durable, with nice rounded corners. No problems whatsoever with wheels on the race cars or car carrier, and no problems with odor issues with the blocks some other reviewers have mentioned. The wood carrying/storage boxes for the blocks, town set and even the race cars are great when it's time to pick up - but during play time get used/turned into part of the play (bases for any of the above-mentioned building "projects".)I recommend any/all of the four purchases to stimulate good old-fashioned, creative, imaginative play for younger and even older children. I would buy them again.
