4great magnets but board is not so great  Apr 28, 2011 By S. Johnson "amazon goddess"
First, the animal pieces are completely covered with magnetic backing, not just little glued on magnets which I was afraid of. My son puts them in his mouth a little but I do think they are a real hazard, but he is 20 months old so I tell him not to. You get 30 or so pieces ranging from 1 square inch to about 8 square inches, very cute animals. I thought they would be nice to play with on the fridge and they are. My son likes to try to stick them to all metal objects. And non-metal ones and I get to try to teach him about magnets that way. The problem I have is the board itself. It is a wooden frame with a metal, whiteboard back and a slot in the top that accepts one of three cardboard-cardstock pictures with the scenes on them. The farm one was fine because it came in the frame. The others were warped because they were shipped in the bag and not in the frame. The magnets are not that strong (which I suppose is good in case a piece gets eaten) so the warped picture would not let the magnets make enough contact with the board underneath and so the magnets did not stay in place in a vertical position. Also, my 20 month old, after seeing me change the pictures, decided he would tear at it until one ripped. So I have just put the board and scenes away and let him play with the animals themselves on the fridge and floor. I have also put away the smallest of the pieces for fear of choking but that leaves plenty. In fact, I will just rotate the ones I want him to play with and there are lots. He likes picking the pieces up and we name the objects, which are again very cute and well made. Even though the board is not great for us now, it may prove its use later. For now, the animals alone are worth what I paid.

2vacation fun  Aug 11, 2007 By Pamela L. Muller "pam"
bought this to keep dd age 3 busy in car on a trip .she played with it a total of 2 minutes and never touched it again.there is'nt much to do with this item with the supplies included except move the animal around the premade scenery.

3m&d farm  Dec 23, 2009 By camaikman
Bought this for our little guy to use in the car. It's durable but a little bland...magnetic scenery pieces would have been nice so he could really get creative

4Great Interactive Toy  Jun 17, 2011 By Goodness Gear
I am a speech language pathologist and I love to use this toy in my therapy. Kids like playing with it with an adult or another child, not as much fun by themselves. It also comes in a sturdy case.

4Fun and educational toy for toddlers  Feb 01, 2011 By Katherine J. Lew
I bought this set for my 2 year old for christmas and it has already given her hours of entertainment. The sturdy wooden magnets are just the right size for toddler fingers and seem very durable. Not only does she enjoy this toy, but also seems to be learning a lot about which animals live in which area. My only disappointment was that the board is too large for her play with in the car. I bought the product originally thinking that it would be a entertaining for her to play with while we drive, but the board is really too big for a toddler to hold on their lap. However, she truly enjoys playing with the magnets and scenes inside while it is sitting on a low table or on the floor.
