 Cute, soft, and age-appropriate for girls 3-10 Dec 16, 2009

I ordered this as a present for a girl I selected through a charity. I was very pleased at how soft and well-made it seemed. I don't know how she liked it, but if I was a 3-year-old (or older) I would have liked this doll a lot.
Her clothes are funky but not sexy, and her hair is very cute. She's a little lighter than she appears in the photograph. I really like the online resources and games that are available with the purchase of this doll. They seem to be designed to empower young girls rather than give them unreasonable physical standards by which to compare themselves.

I ordered two of these in January (different ones). One for my daughter who was turning 5 and one for her younger sister. They both still have them and they love them. I love that I was able to find a toy with my daughter's skin tone.

Cute but not as dark as photo Mar 23, 2011

I ordered this doll as a birthday gift for a 3-year old African-American girl. As another reviewer mentioned, the doll's "skin" color is not as dark as it appears in the photo. What I didn't realize when I ordered the doll is that the doll's eyes are green. The outfit appears to be removable with a velcro closure in back. The doll is very cute, so I hope the birthday girl will like it.
