A Stand Should Be Near the Top of the List Nov 18, 2011

These stands are groovy looking, and are an integral part of the play. A stand is really essential for any type of scenario play with more than one doll - it frees your hands up, lets you set up a scene, and holds one doll in place so another can interact with it. It holds the doll up under the arms and works great, though they are prone to bend and wobble but you can just bend it back into shape (this is why I marked it down a notch on durability). Our first two stands were a major jump forward in our play. We use it for the "teacher" to stand in front of the groovy desks, for the doctor and vet, for the doll riding the groovy surfboard and snowboard, for the dancers on the Groovy stage, for the guitar player and singer in the band, the waitress at the cafe, the chef in the kitchen, and for any situation where we want the doll to stand. We quickly found we needed multiple stands - when we only had one or two stands it wasn't enough for the stories and scenes we wanted to set up without constantly switching them around. At least one or two would be an important part of even a small collection, and for those with at least two dolls, if you had to choose between another doll, furniture, or a stand, get the stand first - it should be near the top of the list. And while we focus on play more than display, it would be useful for that, too - these dolls are so pretty, they are better on a stand than folded over in a box!
