4Colorful!  Dec 10, 2008 By Methusala "Methusala Czar"
I purchased this set for my 6 year old son. We are not Jewish, we are Christians, but I really was looking for a wooden dreidel. I thought he might be too old for this but he still loves to play with 'play food' and the like. He was absolutely thrilled with this. I must say for the price it's an excellent value. I am going to purchase one and donate it to our library. It's really a beautifully made wooden toy. It smells like wood too, not some prefab garbage. (What I'm saying is it's 'solid'.) It comes with a bag to hold everything.
It comes with a paper that has a brief history of Chanukah and directions on how to play the dreidel game.
If you're contemplating this set, all the reviews thus far are correct. It's a really sweet set. Well made, beautiful primary colors, and well packaged. Great price!
As I type this, my son just asked to play with the set... so for today it's beat out the Wii.
It's a decent size, candles come in and out, flames are removable as well. Two latkes, one spatula, 6 wooden 'gold coins' a frying pan, and a dreidel. Plus the bag which is even decent...

Buy this, you won't be sorry. Buy three, one for yourself, one for a gift, and one to donate to your local library or children's center!

5great idea  Nov 06, 2007 By LE
This toy is durable and made well. My soon to be 3 year old loves playing with this, while learning about the holiday at the same time. It's nice to have a Menorah a toddler can participate in "lighting."

5Marvelous Menorah, Lovely Latkes, Dreidel Dud  Dec 12, 2008 By Logical Mom
We got this kit for my 2.5 year old son and 14 month old daughter. The menorah is terrific - it has nine candles, and nine flames, and the kids can put them together, and 'light' the right number on the right night. The menorah is sturdy and just right for small hands. The flipper, pan and latkes are also the right size and durable. The dreidel and few coins are too big and clumsy, and there are not enough coins to really play. (everything is made of wood in this kit). The directions for playing dreidel are wrong (letters with game rules are mixed up). This is a great kit, though, and you can just go buy those cheapie plastic dreidels elsewhere. This is a worthwhile toy.

5Excellent play and learning toy! We love it!  Dec 24, 2008 By Papaya and Blueberry "Papaya and Blueberry"
This Menorah is really well made. The flames actually come out of the candle, which I didn't realize, but love about this toy. Each night, we light our menorah and our 20 month old gets to put the flames on her candles! We read books about Chanukah and then we open a present! It's a wonderful, solid toy that will be in our family for years! Go Kidkraft!

5New favorite toy  Jan 01, 2008 By Apple Scruff
I felt like such a good jewish mother when I got this toy! I bought it for the menorah (he loved playing with our real menorah) but I had no idea how much he would love the pan and spatula! My son is 20 months old, and its perfect for him right now. The puzzle part (putting the candles in the pegs) is just right. There is no "wrong" hole" and he doesn't have to turn the peg to fit it in the slot like other puzzles. My favorite thing is that he does pretend play with it. He has one candle light the others while he makes kissing noises. When he is done, he exclaims "ah men!" SO cute! I can see that he will enjoy this toy in future years, especially the dreidel part which he doesn't yet understand. I would recommend this for any child's first hanukkah. Even if they are too young the first year, you will have it to do hanukkah practice the following year.
